In the video, Bester said to his son “I told you this is a scar on your entire life, do you know the reputation this gives you? You can’t read? You are a big boy you can’t read?
”You can’t read, don’t talk to me again’ That’s the result you bring to this house? Look at the result you brought? You idiot!”
The woman recording the video probably the boy's mother can be heard pleading but the dad replied her saying ”How can you say I should stop beating him, you know what this means...” while still slapping the boy.
Few hours after the video went viral and caught the attention of everyone talking, Besber was arrested by Officers of the Police force in his residence who were sent by The Child Protection Unit Office at the Ministry of Community Development near Levy Junction yesterday for questioning over Child Right Act violation

In the course of his arrest, MTN Zambia has issued out a statement at the early hours of today to counter the information going round that George Bester is a staff of the Telecommunication organization saying that Goerge Besber is not a member of their staff ...

In relation to this, some social media (facebook, twitter, I.G among others) users most especially Africans have come out to express their thought supporting the father for disciplining the child over the poor result and expressing sadness over the Police and the Human Rights interference while others blame the father proposing that justice must be done for abusing the child's right
